Almost as sickening as watching Mexico's surplus population, which has been foisted on us by that corrupt, backward, culturally incompent nation, parade through our streets with Mexican flags even as they burn and walk on American flags, has been listening to the advocates for the unwanted and unwelcome lie and lie and lie. I thought I would take a few moments to answer their lies, as on TV, they simply overtalk or ignore opponents.

1- Having low skill, poorly educated, low paid, menial workers is no advantage for the information age society America is becoming. Low paid workers take out 3.5 times in benefits what they pay into social security. Contrary to what La Raza and Univision say, illegals are going to make the social security deficit worse not better. In addition. although I doubt the unwelcome pay much in income tax, it is important to remember that in the U.S., the bottom 50% of wage earners pay only 4% of the personal income tax. Hence, low wage workers, who typically use more government services than the rich, are actually a fiscal burden for the U.S.. This is especially true for hispanics with their relatively low educational achievement levels and large families.

2- The unwelcome are some of the worst immigrants in the U.S.. Indeed, hispanics have one of the lowest educational achievement levels of any U.S. immigrant group (especially if your exclude the great exception, cubans). As a result, if the U.S. does indeed need 12 million uninvited people, we would be better off with more asians and europeans and fewer mexicans and central americans.

3- Currrently, if one includes illegals, mexico and central america are getting about 96% of all immigrants into the U.S.. This is not only unwise and unfair, it is profoundly racist. The legitimate U.S. immigration policy seeks to avoid this by dividing the world into 5 zones, each entitled to 20% of all immigration. The present system cheats all nationalities and races in favor of mexicans, a totally racist and unbalanced situation.

4- The argument is made that "they are already here" and what can we do about it, imagine the TV images (says Univision's disingenous manipulative anchor). I say, imagine what it is going to be like if we allow the 12 million illegals to stay. I promise you, the tide will increase so that a decade in the future we will be talking about 30 million illegals in the U.S.. Don't believe this is true? The Mexican government's own survey found a further 57% of it's population wanted to move to the U.S..

America is the greatest nation of earth. Everyone knows this, even if they insist they despise us. Let's keep it that way. We cannot take in 5 billion people. Draw the line here and now. If we don't, I shudder to think what kind of country the liars and cheats advocating for the unwelcome will bring us... probably one more like Latin America than the U.S..

Hypocrites

Being an American in the world today is somewhat akin to be locked in a roon with 19 other people, all of whom are yelling at you simultaneously while making demands, begging or attempting to lay a guilt trip. How we have heard about Abu Ghraib, a prison abuse case in which no one was killed, the perpetrators have been caught, tried and convicted and the wrongdoing stopped. How we have heard about Guantanamo, a prison in which the prisoners have gained weight and in which most have found security and ease undreamed of in their prior lives.

What a shame it is that no one seems to take time to reflect of the sins of America's critics and accusors. How about the 250,000 killed in the Bosnia while europeans took long vacations? How about the 40,000 muslim men women and children slaughtered at Hom by their own government? How about the on-going infanticide responsible for the deaths of millions of girl babies in China and India? What about the millions dead in Africa while African leaders engage in ignorance and fantasy about HIV/ Aids? And what of latin Americans, so wrapped in their own corrupt vacantly arrogant culture that they have failed to achieve anything in 300 years other than stifling cultural incompetence and indolence resulting in the increasingly desperate sprint for the U.S. border by their citizens?

We hear so often in the U.S., that we should show more respect for the rest of the world. How does one respect bald face hypocrites and liars?

France's complete inability to deal with or even recognize the hard realites which face it are, along with muslim violence and anti-americanism in europe sure signs of societal denial and defeat in most western european socieites. Very soon, eleites in these countries will have to tell there unwitting popualtions that the social benefits they have long promised are not going to be there (witness the current transit strike in G.B.) and that the europe they have created is a bankrupt, impotent, toothless old man lost in his own delusions.

What is both amusing and pathetic viewed from this side of the Atlantic, is how lost in their own denial and bile are europeans. Reading commentary from many of the French "protestors" one is led to believe that they actually hold that France and by extension europe, can go on as before, unheeding, misinformed and unchanged by the realities global dynamics. The crash is not going to be pretty... and it will arrive suddenly and incomprensibly to fools like those in the streets of Paris today.

This is my impression of the "Prophet Muhammid."

We have been told since 9/11 that Islam is a religion of peace and tolerance... Now is time to speak the truth, this is utter bullshit. Islam is an intolerant regressive religion which creates little which is of value, consumes much, produces too many babies it cannot feed, cloth, educate nor employ and then practices extensive violence, deceit and hypocrisy to cover it's failures.

Islam is a disgusting culture of repression, failure, cowardice amd bigotry which not only keeps its adherents locked in squalor both intellectual and phuysical but which now seeks to destroy the West's vastly superior, constructive and tolerant culture.

Today, in Turkey, supposedly a "tolerant " muslim state, the most expensive movie ever made by that nation's film industry has debuted. The movie is a cretinous inane anti-american fantasy which is all the more a gross hypocrisy due to the current furor over european cartoons depicting Muhammid.

This is a war of civilizations, it is to the death. The sooner the appeasors and apologists for muslim degeneracy in the West fess up to this the sooner will come our victory. And we must be victorious, the failure to do so may bring barbarism and darkness for many centuries.

Deus ex Machina

When I was in Mexico in April it was Deus ex Machina, everything was fine and then the world changed by God's little hand. One moment she was there and possible, the next they came and she left and everything was as it should not be.

I left and took the train to forget, the Empire Builder, long and Yankee and bold and strong. Home to the Cresent City.

China, one change of travel plans in 3 weeks. The Hotel in Urumqi, flip om the TV. What. What. No. Frantic calls home and to my parents. The euro press gloating mean and stupid. Two weeks and China's mercy. Home in a daze, "Oh you're taking it so well says the flight attendent. Motel in San Franciso. Flight to Tampa. Sarasota, my sister's house we haven't even met in years. No job, no home, no city, no money. Goverment incompetence. How can they be so stupid. What it's like to be on the dole. Not me. not me. The shocking thing. No more easy street no more big easy. Cal my clients call my friends. Oh my God my friends are crazy and my business 23 years of tatters. Mercy and compassion. Crockodile tears and anger. Inulgence, passion, loss, this is real on no, not this is real.

Buy a car a cool car. Use it to go home. No more home, no more world, no more Michael and Charlie and Susan and Kate, no more smelly intimate, lazy corrupt creative loving hating eating sweaty derelict wise ignorant auditory kinisthetic swamp city gone forever my life my city my 34 years oh no 52 and new.

Move, move fast, money must last. Sarasota, Tampa, Gainseville, Atanta, Chatanooga, Nashville. A cruel ginding enlightening journey. New Orleans, ruined and confused. Dazed, traumatized. They help me move. I drive the truck.

I love children, but as every adult knows, sometimes some children can misbehave so badly, can be so obnoxious and outrageous that there is no arguing or reasoning with them, there is only to take away their privildeges and to let them wail until they settle down. So it is now between the U.S. and Mexico.

Mexico, settled before the U.S. has always been the self-indulgent, unreasonable, unproductive child to the U.S.'s overachiever. Finally, America has grown up to be by far the most productive, most democratic, most indulgent, the most generous and the most dominant nation in history while Mexico has been the child who hangs around and mutters about the nature of his own failures and disappointments even while accepting handouts from the real grown up. This state of affairs has gone on for some time. Mexico takes ineffectual shots at the U.S. even while it grows more dependent on the largess from north of the border.

As these things go, there comes a point at which the failure's inadequacies and rationalizations for same become so obnoxious that they must be quashed... this is the point at which the U.S. -Mexico realtions are now. Mexico is a state which provides no science or technology to speak of, no military to fight the good fights, no culture of achievement at anything other than producing babies it cannot feed, cloth, educate, or employee. Instead, it is dependent on the U.S. for all these things even while it demands the U.S. do so.

The extent of Mexico's self-delusion is such that it even believes it has the right to demand things from the U.S. which it denies immigrants to it's own territory. Further, some Mexicans laughably believe they can and should attempt to take U.S. territory!

I say, enough. Let us erect a fence the lengh of the border. Let us expel all illegal immigrants no matter how long it takes and send a bill bakc with them for what they have taken. I say let us deal extremely sternly with Mexico... if they slap, let us punch. Accomodating children's tantrums only produces a spoiled brat.

Mexico will yell and scream, they will get other failed socities to do the same. We should treat the lot like what they are, dishonest irrational self- indulgent failures.

Enough is enough. If the unacceptable behavior persists, invade Mexico, for all Mexicans out of the top 250 miles of their former territory and use it as a buffer zone. Severe, yes. Necessary, yes.

Truth telling This last week or so, there has been much self-congragulation in the euro press about the advent of Galileo, Europe's redo of a 20 year old American technology. Aside from the usual european intellectual flatulence, this all seems a little strange from this side of the Atlantic, as it was announced almost simultaneously will Google's announcement of it's nw internet based web browser technology. Indeed, American aplomb compared with european back slapping should be examined in light of the relative importance of the two "advances.

The truth is, despite all the talk otherwise, the U.S. is pulling away from Europe and the rest of the planet technologically. This last year has seen major U.S. innovations and discoveries in the areas of Interent and High Tech, Nanothechnology, Biotechnology, Military Technology and others without corresponding advances from the rest of the planet. In fact, what seemed to be non-American achievements truned out to be busts; the Canadian Blackberry system is no more as it apparently was just a ripoff of U.S. technology, Korea's gentics achievements have proved t be frauds and Europe plods on with White Elephants such as A380 or it's derivative and non earth shattering Galileo.

Why is this the case? Perhaps it has something to do with the fact the American society is able to assimilate and utilize it's human resources far more effectively than any other nation. Indeed, just one look at Europe's abject failure with immigrants or Latin America's pathetic attempts to blame the U.S. for its own failures based in actuality on it's culture of corruption and fantasy. Instead of listening to that old fool Castro or the new fools in Venezuela and Bolivia, Latin Americans should ask themselves just why it is that when their citizens come to the U.S. they are able to achieve so much.

But, it is Europe which is the sad case. Europeans, it seems to me are constantly fighting the wrong battles for the wrong reasons. Apparently, anti-americanism and pure malice are the motivations for their actions all to often. Both Galileo and Airbus were and are creations made to spite the U.S. as much as to reasure Europeans that their own increasingly antiquated and sclerotic world view is valid. But, I think time will prove the A380 no match for the IPod and Galileo no match for Google.

The point being that europeans remind me of nothing more these days than the French General Staff in the summer of 1939, serene in their error filled dated and self-serving fog, resplendent in the plaesures of the table and of the cafe, while in actuality hopelessly and dangerously lost. Meanwhile, the twin time bombs of demographics and inferred debt are ticking even while U.S. GDP per capita is double that of the E.U..

During the Kosovo War, better known as The War to Save the European Nanny State, former U.S. Secretary of State Lawrence Eagleberger summed up the worth of most our NATO allies with the words in the title to this piece. Listening to the obnoxious proposal from the Germans today that NATO should be a partnership between the U.S. and the E.U. instead of a partnership between constituent states reminds me of this.

Why? Well for several reasons. First, the E.U. is not a state, it is a loose confederation of declining powers who share the same continent. With the exception of the U.K., most of those powers have little military potential. Further, what little potential they have is waning rapidly and, due to europe's sclerotic socialist economy and death spiral demographics, the situation will continue into the forseeable future.

What would motivate the now reformed Germans
to make such a patently ludicrous proposal? Why would the U.S. which provides most of and progressively more of NATO's strengh to surrender control of that strengh for no return?

I suggest two reasons, arrogance and desperation.
Europe lives increasingly in a self delusional culture of facade. That is, they pretend pretend to be something other than what reality reveals them to be, allowing euros to live in what the Germans call a "wonder cukoo land." In other words, euros avoid dealing with the truth which is that not only are they inferior to but dependent on the disdaned and increasingly hated Americans, but that they are being left in the dust with ever increasing velocity the those same fat uncultured yanks.

In response to the german proposal (notice, no similar proposal for the U.N. or other supranational bodies) I propose the U.S. begin a dialogue with itself over the next two years. The topic of this dialogue to be, "Just what do we need europe for and how much should we pay for it."

Like a once good relationship gone bad, I wonder if and increasingly sour, poor, weak and delusional europe is a habit the U.S. can no longer afford.

Political correctness is the refuge of the weak intellect, unable to defend it's ideas through logic and reason and unwilling to accept the fundemental dishonesty of hiding behind an indefenseable position. It is an admission of intellectual defeat and moral inferiority on the part of the individual who hides behind it as well as by the individual who through aquiesence and or amorality allows political correctness to slander and restrict the freedoms of those it opposes.

"AFTER the Holocaust, antisemitism was delegitimised and contained in the Western world, embraced openly only by the lunar right.

Not that there was no hatred left. There have been three waves of anti-Jewishness since the Holocaust. Each was bigger than the one before; the current one is the largest, loudest and most intense.

The first wave was immediately after the Holocaust and was manifest in attacks on survivors and social, covert antisemitism.

The second wave was characterised by the 1975 UN resolution equating Zionism with racism, passed not coincidentally under the stewardship of the former Nazi Kurt Waldheim, and the world’s embrace of Palestinian terrorism.

Then there was a lull from 1993 till 2000 — until Durban and the second intifada. In this phase we see anti-Jewishness, albeit in the disguise of anti-Israel, becoming a legitimate component — and often the centerpiece — of political correctness.

The current phase is reminiscent of 1930s Europe in scope, dimensions, intensity and all-pervasiveness. Then there was a Nazi state, complete with not only ideology, but an army. Now we have faceless terrorism and Islamofascism instead.

This week we turn to anti-Israel and anti-Americanism as conduits for antisemitism.

The Soviet Union wasn’t as hated by the West as the United States and Israel is hated now. No ruthless cruel despot has been vilified in the West as Bush and Sharon.

Open jeering and hatred of America and Israel became common. The unrelenting condemnation of America and Israel, for decades only articulated by Nazi- and Ku Klux Klan-affiliated ratbags and the lunar left, entered mainstream left-liberal political discourse.

In fact, on the stance of America and Israel, often there is not much to separate the centre left and radical right.

In what follows, my aim is not to be an advocate of the current American or Israeli administration. I am describing a dangerous phenomenon, an ideological SARS virus of irrational hatred.

In the past years one came to be seen as moral, informed, sincere and compassionate by taking an anti-American, anti-Israeli stance, brandishing coded expressions such as “the Jewish lobby”, or “Jews are Nazis”, and a gamut of anti-Jewish, anti-Israeli, antisemitic imagery.

Being scathing and contemptuous of Israel and America seems to prove one’s righteousness. There is a longstanding linkage between hatred of the US and hatred of Jews. The US as a country and Jews as people conspicuously benefitted from modernity. They are its success stories.

The linkage of Jews and the US as the source of all evil was used by the Nazis, and, adding Israel, by Stalin, Saddam, the anti-globalist movement. It was propagated in Durban and after 9/11 — and it has been mainstreamed by the peace movement.

Why does this linkage work? Why does the mainstream embrace it so enthusiastically?

In the past three years the world became a scary place. If the Twin Towers could be destroyed by airplanes with passengers turned into missiles anything is possible. To make it worse, the enemy is faceless, ruthless, committed to hatred and zealotry with a hologram-like infrastructure.

In the post-9/11 world, where al-Qaeda looms hydra-like, Islamofascism calls for Jihad, civilians are targeted by suicide bombers, whose devices are constructed to cause not only death but optimum pain, rational tools of understanding do not make sense anymore.

But a world in which Israel is the ultimate enemy and not Bin Laden would be a lot less frightening and more comprehensible. If only Israel did the “right” thing (ceased to exist? withdraw without security?) then bingo, there would be no more al-Qaeda, Jemaa Islamiya or Hamas.

If only the US/Bush stopped whatever (globalisation, Hollywood, McDonald’s, supporting Israel) and joined the Kyoto Treaty — all would be well.

Rationalising terrorism and its hate-filled ideology allows comprehension and control. If the cause is irrational, irreconcilable hatred with a quasi-religious revolutionary ideology, nothing can contain it.

The cause has to be attributed to something explicable, manageable. So America and Israel are depicted as greater evil than militant Islam — in fact, its underlying cause, the real danger to the world. Incidentally, it is also not dangerous to oppose America or Israel.

All this provides a powerful motivation to explain away Islamofascist hatred and terrorism as rational phenomena and to insist on blaming Israel and America.

But it still does not explain the intensity of the hatred.

If you compare Israel or the US (in fact, any Western state) to the ideal of the optimal liberal state, there are a host of shortcomings — and the comparison helps us strive for improvement and vigilance.

Fortunately, both Israel and the US are democracies, in the full sense of liberal principles, with, and in spite of, faults and ill-conceived policies. But policies can be changed; at the next election Bush or Sharon will be or will not be re-elected, unlike, say, the mullahs or Assad.

Nobel Prize winner Istvan Kertesz said recently: “How is it possible that the dictator of Iraq, this pupil of Hitler and Stalin, was seen as a more acceptable figure for Europe than the American President, who, according to the rule of law, can be re-elected or rejected in every four years? “

The fight for coherence and ethical values demands more and more ideological acrobatics. Those who exclusively condemn America and Israel have to explain away authoritarian regimes, the rabid antisemitic rhetoric and ideology of political Islam and its neo-Nazi connections.

They attribute more harm to McDonald’s and American sitcoms than to Taliban brutality. To their shame, they portray Bush and Sharon as Nazis.

Such was the impact of 9/11 that many who used to be left-leaning liberals find themselves bewildered on the side of Bush’s war on terror. We have seen icons of left thinkers, such as Christopher Hutchins, coming out on the side of Bush.

We read Oriana Falacci declaring shame at the anti-Jewish stance of the left, Europe, Italy and the Church.

But it works the other way too: we witness arch-feminist Germaine Greer urging women to don burqas in support of Iraq. Pro-Palestinian demonstrators carry slogans like “Mort aux Juifs” in France, “Judenschweine” and “Sieg Heil” in Germany.

London’s left-wing mayor, Ken Livingstone, denounces Bush as “the greatest threat to life on this planet that we’ve most probably ever seen”.

The UK’s Richard Ingrams, without repercussion, proclaimed in the Observer that he refuses to read letters from Jews about the Middle East and that Jewish journalists should declare their racial origins (!) when writing on this subject.

We try to make sense of a world in which French Muslims’ daughters are not allowed to wear the hijab to school, but their sons are allowed to beat up or terrorise Jews, vandalise Jewish cemeteries and synagogues.

Significantly, the peace movement did not rally under “Down with Saddam” banners. It was under anti-Jewish banners that Sydney’s St Andrew’s Cathedral was attacked — mistaken for a synagogue, and the verger was beaten, believed to be Jewish.

The vast numbers at the peace rallies did not find anything wrong with Saddam or his oppression of the Iraqis, but found plenty wrong with America. Under the placards of the peace rallies a convergence of the left and far right took place, meeting on the common grounds of antisemitism, anti-Israelness and anti-Americanism.

The claim of exclusive morality, and sanctimoniousness is one of the important aspects of the new political correctness. Bush only said “you are either with us or with them”, but the politically correct say “we have moral superiority”. Yet it is antisemitism, and indeed any kind of hatred that has to be viewed in the context of morality.

It was the combined impact of 9/11, the anti-globalisation and peace movements that propelled mainstream liberals to embrace the lunar right’s and left’s hatred for Israel and America.

The politically-correct analysis of the world condemns Israel and America and that is the ideological paradigm within which the most vocal of Western intelligentsia, especially the media operate. This ideological paradigm allowed irrational hatred to enter.

And it is the ancient hatred, the underlying antisemitism with its historical and ideological dimensions that fuels the fervour and the intensity of the hatred.

The virulent hostility against Israel and America feeds on ancient and modern antisemitism and is using the well-worn paths of its ideologies. And that is what is causing the deja vu of oppressive danger."

If this is allowed to continue in the office, the lab, the classroom, the retreat center or the church, what happened in Nazi Germany will happen again.
Fools wlll triumph truth will be silenced, idiocy and ignorance will for a time conquer reason and knowledge and we will see society reduced by the cowardice of the politically correct and the aquiesence of the executive, scientist, professor, seminar leader or clergy to the most hate filled least common denominator.

Castro si, Pinochet non?

One of the most obvious and flagrant examples of gross dishonesty and hypocrisy I notice regularly are the constant calls from the left for the arrest and prosecution of Gen. Augusto Pinochet of Chile for War Crimes. Of all the candidates for this treatment, the case against Pinochet certainly is one of the weakest and least substantial. Certainly, on any kind of factually based objecive basis, there are many candidates with whom the world should be concerned prior to Picnochet's. The case against Fidel Castro, for instance.

Castro, by any measure, has been more repressive, killed more people and done so for a much longer period than Pinochet. Measured by the results of their respective repression based regimes, Chile has, by virtually any measure proven superior to Cuba. Chile is the stablest democracy in Latin America while Cuba is still a totalitarian police state. Chile enjoys robust economic growth, boasting a purchasing power adjusted GDP of per capita of $9,900.00 with a 3.3% rate of growth while the figures for Cuba are $2,900.00 and 2.8%. Chile has earned a reputation as a sucessful trading nation while Cuba relies of remittances from Cuban Americans and Sex tourism for the bulk of it's foriegn exchange. Chile has superior life expectancy 76.33 vs. 74.77 and has superior levels of education, internet usage and various other quality of life indicators.

Most importantly, Chileans live as a free people in a free country while those Cubans who have not already migrated to the U.S. live as slaves and serfs to the Marxist police state of El Commandante en Jefe.

So, I ask, why Pinochet and not Castro?

Understanding Euros or the Emperors new Clothes

I thought I would take a few moments to inform my fellow Americans about just why itis that europeans act the way they do and what to do about it.

Most of us have been recipeints of much comment from our european friends over the years regarding the many failings of the U.S. and it citiizens. What seldom seems to be discussed are the many delusions with which europeans wrap themselves, the reasons for these veils of rationalization and denial and what you can do about them.

Europe's history is one of almost non-stop strife and bloodshed. During the last 100 years, over 120 million europeans have died in wars such as WWI, WWII and political oppression like the collectivization of agriculture in the old USSR or the Holocaust.

In point of fact, the two greatest evils of the 20th century, Nazism and Marxim were and are manifestations of european culture which is still alive as manifested in Bosnia and Kosovo.

How then, you may ask, did it come to be the europeans now posture themselves as the planet's greatest pacifists. Partially, this is a function of the "reformed drunk as advocate for sobriety" syndrome, partially it is denial and partially this is a product of the european love of facade as reality.

After the Second World War, it was decided that the peace in europe could only be kept by "buying off" the working class via social giveaway programs which were ludicrously over generous. Now, faced with a niggardly indigenous birthrate high unemployement lack of innovation, nil economic growth and unable to assimilate muslims brought in to pay for social nets which are rapidly going bust, europeans are "whistling past the graveyard." In other words, they know in their hearts that they are heading for a train wreck, but the culture of denial and facade to which they have become accoustomed prevents constructive action being taken to deal with the impending meltdown,

Now, what does this mean to you as a traveler? Well, when euro's talk of American Imperialism, underrstand that what they are really worried about is europe's consistent relative decline in the world and especially vis a vie the U.S.. They can neither understand nor accept this obvious fact, as the culture of facade precludes it. When they talk of American unilateralism, what they mean is America's ability to assert itself without them, an ability which is not reciprocal and a fact which both frustrates and humiliiates them.

For instance, the same europeans nations which demanded the U.S. get U.N. approval for the invasion of Iraq demanded we not get UN approval for the war in Kosovo. Why?

The richest E.U. countries have GDP per capita about 65% that of the U.S. adjusted for purchasing power. One way to look at this is that the newly expanded EU has about 450 million people and has a total GDP the same as the U.S. with 300 miillion people. Now, over the next 100 years the current EU's population is expected to decline to 350 million while the US population is forcast to rise to 500 million. What do you think this means for our relative levels of proseprity and power?

One further point, europeans, even the Brits, do not really have the rights we enjoy in the U.S., a fact you understand quickly if you've posted on europeans message boards vs. those HQed in the U.S.. In fact, many european socieities are very juvenile in their grasp of democracy: for instance, the U.S. has had a democracy since 1776. During that period, France has had 5 Republics interespersed with varios monarchies, empires, communes, quasi Nazi states. Spain had 40k voluteers fighting with the Nazis just 60 years ago and has been a democracy for only two decades, etc., etc., etc..

So, they point is, dealing with them is often verys similar to being the parent of a group of adolescents. Be prepared for that type of relationship and you can enjoy europe and all it has to offer to the fullest.

Like everyone else I've been watching the coverage of the disaster in Asia closely and it has quickly revealed some truths which need amplification.

Truth one, european self-righteousness and dishonesty. We all heard the norwegian bureaucrat take a swipe (in directly, of course) at the U.S. as "stingy." What has been less well reported is that he also referenced that "some people" need to raise their taxes so that they can contribute more to causes such as pay his salary.

What an odd comment! Why would it occur to a european socialist to comment disparagingly on U.S. tax policy on the morning after a calamity such as has occured. More surprisingly, why would someone who must know better make this blatantly unture critisism at all?

The fact, as all informed on the subject know is that the U.S. is, as a society, incredibly generous. Last year, the U.S. contributed 40% of all governemnt supplied disaster relief foriegn aid world wide. But, this is not all. Unique among all the world's nations, for the U.S., foreign aid directly from the national government is by far the smallest part of our largess to the rest of the world.

In point of fact, 80% of all private charitable contributions make world wide are made by American citizens who make up just 4.5% of the planet's popuation. Last year, for instance (pre tsunami) the U.S. goverment gave $2.4 billion in forign disaster relief aid while private U.S. citizens gave $34 billion. To this, must be added aid given by U.S. corporations and foundations (for instance, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation for World Health has a larger budget the the World Health Organization) as well as U.S. government aid in the form of military assistance (such as the U.S. fleet and air force now providing most of the aircraft for the relief of tsumai victims).

So, it is obvious that the U.S. is anything but stingy. Why then the Norewegian's comments? Perhaps it has to do with the usual inane and always dishonest anti-americanism rampant in europe. But, I believe the comments about low taxes are telling. You see, in almost all european nations, the socialist welfare state is hopelessly bankrupt. One prime reason for this, is the inabililty of the european economy to grow in the face of America's innovation, energy and low taxes.

In other words, even America's generosity must be lied about if it means the maintenance of long vacations for spiritually corrupt, intellectually dishonest europeans.

Truth two, muslims are all talk. It is noticeable that among the victim nations, those which are predominantly muslim have been the slowest to react, the most hostile to help and the most resistant to coverage. Further, the net contributions from brother muslims have been negligeable... the $80 million donated so far by Americans to the Red Cross is twice as much as all "pledges" by muslim nations.

Today, the World bank issued a report which was in virtually all ways a complete vindication for globalization as a force good and a repudiation of the hysteria from the anti-globalization cretins and the anti-american eurofools.

The report states that despite the planet's rapidly exapanding population, terrorism, tsunami's, war corruption et. al., that the planet's prosperity was increasing at an amazing rate and that globalization and it's father, democratic capitalism (both championed by the U.S.) deserve the credit.

Among other things, the report stated that global economic growth was a 6.1% for the year, and the a historic reduction in rates of poverty had occured. The report concludes that globalization was the engine driving this dynamo.

My question is, if this report is correct, why have we heard no mea culpa's from the natttering cretins which make up the anti-globalization crowd?
